Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using Oden ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is provided by Haugland Utvikling (Org. nr. 930 864 617), based in Norway. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Oden is an AI-powered productivity assistant available on iOS and macOS. It helps you manage todos, reminders, and calendar events through natural language conversation. The AI assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one account

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Oden offers a free trial period, after which a paid subscription is required for continued access to the AI assistant features.

  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store (StoreKit)
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy

Subscription pricing, usage limits, and available features may change. We will notify active subscribers at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect. Usage limits (daily AI interactions) may be adjusted with 7 days notice to ensure service quality and sustainability. Existing subscribers retain their current pricing until the end of their billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use the AI assistant to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service
  • Use the Service through automated, scripted, or bulk API access

Subscriptions are intended for personal productivity use. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that exhibit unusual usage patterns that negatively impact service availability for other users.

6. AI Assistant Limitations

The Oden AI assistant is designed to help with productivity tasks. Please be aware that:

  • AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete
  • The AI does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice
  • Calendar events and reminders created by the AI should be reviewed by you
  • The Service depends on third-party AI infrastructure (Anthropic) and may be subject to their availability
  • We are not responsible for actions taken based on AI suggestions
  • We reserve the right to modify which AI models and providers are used to deliver the Service
  • We may implement usage optimizations such as caching and template responses where appropriate

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create through the Service (todos, notes, messages). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to provide the Service, including sending messages to Anthropic's API for AI processing.

8. Calendar and Reminders Access

Oden requests access to your device's calendars and reminders to provide scheduling functionality. This access is optional and can be revoked at any time through your device's Settings. Calendar data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.

9. Availability and Changes

  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
  • We may update these terms; continued use constitutes acceptance

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haugland Utvikling shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
